Victoria was called to the New South Wales Bar in 2014 and became the first Korean-Australian female barrister in Australia. Victoria practiced law at the NSW Bar from 2014 to 2020. Victoria has extensive experience in the conduct of litigation. She appeared as sole or junior counsel in many first instance and appellate matters heard at all levels in the New South Wales and Commonwealth Courts, including the Supreme Court of NSW and Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, the Federal Circuit Court, the Family Court and in various tribunals. Victoria appeared in and advised on a wide range of matters including commercial and contractual disputes, equity, real property, corporations, insolvency and bankruptcy, employment law, consumer law, administrative law and family law. Victoria also worked on cases involving complex and large-scale litigation. Victoria appeared in many court-annexed and private mediation, conciliation conference and arbitration. Victoria is proactive in using alternative dispute resolution processes as a flexible and cost-effective alternative to the judicial determination of disputes. Between 2014 and 2019, Victoria was a sessional lecturer at the UNSW Law School. She enjoyed teaching “Resolving Civil Disputes” - a compulsory civil litigation course for all students in undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees. Victoria is well versed in the principles underpinning court processes, as well as an intimate knowledge of the procedures of particular courts. Victoria holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from University of New South Wales and a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree from Sydney University. Victoria is fluent in English and Korean.

Our New Senior Lawyers

H & H Lawyers continues to add to its ranks with the addition of senior lawyers Victoria Cha, Seil Kim and Justin Leong. Victoria, Australia's first female Korean barrister, strengthens our dispute resolution and commercial litigation practices. She has extensive litigation expertise in complex commercial transactions and contractual disputes across bankruptcy, real estate, employment, consumer and administrative law. Seil joins us as Special Counsel with expertise in international cross-border transactions. He previously worked as a lawyer for international law firms and then as General Counsel and Executive Director for a global funds management firm for nearly 20 years. Experienced legal advisers like Seil enable us to uniquely advise and act for multinational corporations and individuals that want to invest in Australia. Justin joins our thriving real estate practice and his expertise in property and commercial transactions is instrumental to its continued expansion. Prior to H & H, he worked at the boutique firm Shanahan Tudhope. We are excited to see our firm grow not only in numbers but in our ability to better serve our clients.
