Nicholas is an experienced banking regulatory lawyer specialising in financial services regulation, compliance advisory, and enforcement matters. With over 10 years of experience, he advises on domestic and international banks, and financial institutions on navigating complex regulatory frameworks and responding to evolving supervisory expectations. Nicholas also advises clients on a broad spectrum of regulatory issues, including licensing, governance, anti-money laundering (AML), prudential standards, conduct of business rules, and regulatory investigations. Prior to joining H & H Lawyers, Nicholas was a Senior Manager at Westpac’s Group Compliance team based in Sydney, where he led various projects in relation to policy, licensing and governance matters. Nicholas also worked in the capital markets team at the New Zealand’s Financial Markets Authority (equivalent to APRA) and in the tax prosecutions & collections team at the New Zealand Inland Revenue Department (equivalent to ATO). Nicholas earned his law and commerce (Accounting) degrees from the University of Auckland. He is admitted to practice law in New South Wales and New Zealand, and was previously a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
